Before April 2020 Becky Addy Wood was owned by a nearby farmer. He put it up for sale in March 2020 and a small group of local people came together to set up FROBAW to try to buy it. Through the generosity and enthusiasm of many people who knew and loved the wood, a significant amount of money was raised. When the BoA Town Council had an offer accepted to buy the wood themselves, negotiations between the Town Council and FROBAW took place. A Memorandum of Understanding between the BoA Town Council and FROBAW was signed and FROBAW agreed to contribute towards the purchase of the wood £30 000 that they had raised.
