Please follow the link below for the results of the latest footfall count survey, done on Sunday 22 October and Friday 3 November 2023. The top section is the actual recording by hour. Lower down there are 2 calculations, one without a weekly group of 20 walkers and one with. We wanted to demonstrate the effect that a regular walking group would have on the figures. The 20 walkers add to the total: 20 divided by 7 days, divided by 24 hours = 0.12 people/hr, which is negligible.
We believe that the Sunday 22 October figure at the end of half term was probably a bit of an outlier (on the high side), with lots of people taking advantage of a beautiful autumn day to go to the pub and tea garden at Avoncliff. But it has still resulted in a footfall average not very different to what we estimated before – under 2 people per hour.
